Dear Diary……

SKOOL GIRL NIGHT DONE! A few beers in the chalet, finally convinced James they are for men! Then a few bottles of Kronenboug 1664, and some vodkas and coke. Then watched ‘Wanted’ great movie like the matrix meets fight club. So a few more beers on, a pint of wine, a Dr Peppers (half coke, half beer, shot of Amaretto) and memories become really hazy!

Met some hot girl called Barbie, she actually did look like barbie, and had fantastic breasts. I vaguely remember kissing them in the toilets and then hitting the Techno Techno Techno. Then I pulled the Crystal girl again - I still don’t remember who she is!!! I think her name may be Lucy? But still not sure, and would not recognise her if I bumped in to her in the street - it must stop! Oh and some guy tried to kill me because I spilt my drink on him - a bit of an over reaction I think.

The newsflash is that I think I may have a quiet night in tonight and try to lay of the booze, altough all the wine for the season arrived in our chalet today so it may prove temping!

Jackass Out!

Le ‘Journal’

We have made it to Deux Alpes and where we will be spending the rest of the season - Result! So far me and James have torn it up in La Tania, spent a week in Alp d’heuz training and now we are here for the rest of the Season or until out livers stop working.

There are some cool people working with us in the resort and we have met the tour guides as well who we will be working with, so looks like we are all going to have a great time! Hit a few bars as well, but missing the honeys that we met in Alp d’heuz - would have been nice to have spent a season getting to know them better.

The drinking has been going solid, and our first night in Deux Alpes involved breakdancing, singing, pulling, dancing and using poles….?!? Have made it to Secret Bar and Yetti, and there have been some hot bar maids cited.  Also made ourselves known in Smithys and finally ended the night in Le Avalanche. Apparantly I pulled some girl from Crystal but have no idea who she was!

Anyway we have a School Disco tonight so should be good to see how that one goes…

Oh Yeah……BOM BOM - Chick Chica Chigaaah

December Flying Past!

Last night was definately worth a mention, or what I can remember of it! We started drinking in our chalet in Alp d’heuz. We got a 26 pack of stubbies, sat around for a meal, and proceeded to get absolutely trousered. Me and James were leading the way, and doing our best to show off in front of all the hot girls! We played the usual drinking games, slaps, name games, thumb master, 21, no saying the word drink etc and had a quality time. By the time the meal was over we were obviously enjoying ourselves and all the songs were coming out - I cannot sing at all!

Then we went on a pub crawl, they were as follows, hit the Pacific bar. Really small and cavanous and one if the taller guys slammed his head in to the door on the way in. Played a few games of pool, and I hit some ‘trick shots’ then we hit the Slide bar. Which basically has a slide in it! Everytime we wanted to go to the toilet some bloke injected our moves full of shots and then we slid down to the toilets for you know what. Then at some point the whole bar was on fire…..random but cool!

Then we hit the Sharky bar, I think it was called, then somewhere else, and finally ended up in the Iglu Bar. A bottle of vodka was E80 so we bought one of them, and then just gathered everyone around and got shitfaced. Finally we walked the hot chalet girls home like gentlemen - no luck then, and headed home without scoring - oh well.

I can definately tell me and James have been earmarked as ones to watch by the resort manager so may need to keep our heads down for a few days!

WIPE OUT!

16 December - Still alive and Kicking!

SO I came out here with the intention of writing on the blog most days. Well that idea has obviously gone out of the window, anyone that could do that would be rather sad, and when would you have the time to do it! Ski Seasons are hectic affairs!

Anyway exciting news since the last post as I should be heading out to Les Deux Alpes. La Tania training is now over however we aren’t quite ready for the new ski season so we are doing some training in Alp D’heuz where I am writing from. Staying in a massive chalet with a Jacuzzi which we have been taking full advantage of. There are also some hot girls in the chalet that we are sharing with but we’re not quite up to bottles of Crystal in the Jacuzzi yet.

However I do remember a naughty kiss quite late with someone yesterday so seems I have made friends with 2 people so far. Did I mention the other one??

So the snow is looking good, and I think we’re all trained out, we’ve hit some great bars in this resort and give it a few more days and we should know most the bar staff. Shame we have to move on really as this is a great place.

D’huez Apres!

About time I made another entry!

Loving having access to this blog at the moment - and enjoying logging in, so expect a lot more posts! Ok Ok so I missed a few days, but things have been busy here. So far the chalet has been really wicked and I am starting to learn the names of people here. Hangon lets see how many I have….

Duncan, Lou, Andy, Abi, Fran, James, T Bone, Rich, Chris, Fenny, Geoff and Matt. That’s 13 of us in total, eehh I’m missing someone, oh well. Remembering names is an important part of any chalet hosts repetoire so I need to get practicising, as knowing a guests name means more tips….probably!

So I have been hitting the Ski Lodge, the only real pub in La Tania, been chilling in there quite a lot in the evenings and having a few beers and making some good pub mates. And having races back to the chalet at 1 in the morning has been champion. You forget how hard it can be to do any excercise at altitude.

The big news though of this post is to find out where we will be going for the season, as I think I have mentioned before La Tania is a great little resort but it’s a little too small for an entire season so I am keeping my fingers crossed I get somewhere nice and big to spread my wings!

RAD OUT

Day 1 - here made it - 2 beers down!

I am here and have arrived! Just had a couple of beers and have had an absolutely exhausting first day. Set off early for the plane but traffic was crazy in the UK and we nearly missed it - we were running through the airport like mad people!!

I’m in a cool chalet and the people seem nice, had forgotten a little how much training you have to do in your first week, and as a chalet host to be it will be a week learning how to cook and clean! Just had our first meal, and my role was to be spectator didn’t want to take over too much. The food was ok, but resembled something I would probably have made in my first year doing this.

Saw James then as we are in different training chalets, he was in the pub and doing what he does best. Sinking a few and making friends. Anyway I’m a bit drunk and I’m sure my tapping is annoying my room mate for the week called Geoff. So I am going to sign off for the night.

Facebook Fans - New Webcams - And more to come…

So for a bit of fun we setup two Facebook fan pages and just sat back to see what would happen! Well it seems people just started joining them. So far, to date, right now, as I type - yes a human is typing this and not a robot, we have 161 fans of snowboarding and 70 fans for skiing! So what does this mean?

Well currently I guess it means snowboarding seems more popular, however as someone pointed out, perhaps it was because the skiers are out enjoying their lives, whilst the boarders were stuck on facebook - who knows!

So what else, well we have been shaking a magic wand over the site a little, as it is still so new we are noticing where improvements and changes need to be made! We have started upgrading our webcams pages (a time consuming process) and we are linking these to our Forum - 91 members now - so check some out! The American ones are being done first - only due to alphabetical reasons!

Plus we have spent time saying goodbye to friends who are off for the season, and new ones we have made on the site - have a great one guys! Plus the Plooka Seasonaire jetted off this week so we will be keeping an eye out for those posts!

Follow me for the Season!

So I guess you have to start somewhere properly, I’ll be logging in over the season and keeping regular updates. I’ve been putting off starting properly for a little while but I guess the inevitable is now upon me!!!

This blog will be a collection and a recollection of my time in the French Alps and the first time I have written since university! I hope to capture the ups and downs of the season, I’ll be going out with a mate called James and whether we will still be mates by the end! I did do a ski season last year so I am hoping this one will be as awesome!

Anyway we will be leaving at 3am for a 7am flight heading for ST Etienne. Then we will spend the first week training before selecting our resort for the year. We will be training in La Tania, a nice little resort on the three valleys but not where I want to be for the whole season. I’ve finished my job where I was earning good money, and will be sacrificing it for the fresh mountain air, beautiful scenery, great chicks, and loads of drinking. If the blog stays up to date - it should, hopefully it will be very entertaining!

So the next entry should be made with me logging in from France, the start is made and I need to get some kip!

Au revoir Mon Amis! And bookmark this page!

Plooka Towers has relocated to the Sun!

So where have we been - well we were previously holed up in Birmingham in the UK, however Plooka towers has moved to a more glamorous setting - unfortunately a little further away from the snow though! We are now in Sunny Melbourne, in Australia!

So looks like we will be observing this years ski season from our sunny beach side residence. Already we are salivating at the prospect of checking out the kitesurfing scene which seems growing in popularity over here!

Anyway we now have our internet setup and regular updates and action should be forthcoming on the site.

Thanks to even more people who have signed up to the Forum and the 100 members goal looks like a goer!

Oh we have also been playing with facebook a bit and have created a fans page for Snowboarding and Skiing we want to see which proves more popular. At the moment Skiing just has it with 29 fans to 21. So join up, perhaps we will find something clever to do with the groups!
